The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is set to admit about 9,000 students who sat for the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for the 2014/2015 academic session.
This rapid increase in admission has been attributed to the massive improvement in infrastructure and the commitment of the staff members in assisting the institution to provide a qualitative academic environment for its students.
The Vice-Chancellor of UNILORIN, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, who made this disclosure during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), to establish a sugarcane bio-factory in the University said that over 100,000 admission seekers applied to study in the school this year.
University of Ilorin will hold a screening exercise for prospective students in order to get the most qualified admitted as the institution values excellence.
Subsequent announcement concerning the screening will be made in due time.
