The immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Professor Bath Okolo will not be probed over many abandoned projects in the institution during his tenure.
This was disclosed by the current Vice
Chancellor, Professor Benjamin Ozumba, who reiterated that he was not
appointed to investigate past contracts.
Prof. Ozumba said that he was not an
official of the anti graft agency which has the mandate to investigate
corrupt public officers
Although he acknowledged the plethora of
abandoned projects within both campuses of the institution in Enugu and
Nsukka, Ozumba said he would source funds to complete them as well as
start critical new ones like the Pharmaceutical Sciences Faculty.
He added that his administration will
engage all relevant stakeholders in broad consultation on the need to
keep the dreams of the university’s founding fathers alive.
