Bayero University Campus Radio Station Commences Operation

The Bayero University, Kano (BUK) campus radio station has officially commenced broadcasting operation on the 98.9 frequency after the installation of a 500 watts transmitter in the institution.

This was announced by the Head of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. Balarabe Maikaba, who said that the radio signal could be received 20 kilometers away from the university campus and will be manned by professionals and students from the Mass Communication Department.

He said programmes being aired by the station between 8am and 6pm daily, which are mostly educational, student’s life on campus, politics, economy, health, current affairs, lifestyle, fashion, religion, culture, sport, music and entertainment, were both for students and the community as well.
