The management of Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE),
Effurun, has denied reports of an internal crisis rocking the
institution over funds purportedly donated to it by the National
Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS).
A statement by the acting Registrar of
the institution, Mr. Amiso Isiowuari, said: “At no time was there
fighting or crisis in the University or any imbroglio between the
management and the Governing Council over NEEDS fund.
“It is believed that the orchestrated
crisis is crafted out of the figment of the imagination of sponsors who
thrive in initiating evil machinations.”
The university also denied claims that
the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Etu-Efeotor had been forced out of
office, rather the statement said he was on medical vacation
