The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has distributed ten utility cars to some departments and units in the school in order to increase productivity, effectiveness and smooth running of the University.
Commissioning the cars, the Vice-Chancellor of FUTA, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, said “I thank God that the needs of some departments and units for utility cars are met at last. This will in no small way increase their productivity.”
He added that the vehicles are meant only to shuttle within the school and Akure metropolis. He said the second phase of the distribution would be carried out when the University takes delivery of the second set of vehicles.
The beneficiaries of the brand new Suzuki cars include the School of Postgraduate Studies, Security Unit, Bursary, Registry, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Vice-Chancellor’s office, Internal Audit and Student Affairs.
