The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have donated about 87 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) books to Bayero University Kano (BUK) as part of its corporate social responsibility to spread digital dividends to tertiary institutions across the country.
The donation, which was received by the BUK Vice Chancellor, Prof.
Abubakar Rasheed, was done by NCC Board Commissioner, Alhaji Mohammed
Bintube, on behalf of the commission.
A statement by the NCC Director of Public Affairs, Mr Tony Ojobo said
that, “the Commission is honoured and privileged to be present at one
of the Citadels of learning in Nigeria. We appreciate the efforts made
in ICT within the University”.
The Commission applauded the Vice Chancellor and the university’s
management for keeping up with the trends in ICT with the rest of the
world.
The books will be placed at the university’s ICT Centre
which consists of a Postgraduate School, Departments of Information
Technology (IT), Software Engineering and Computer Science.
