The lecturers of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has gone on total strike over non-payment of two months salaries and earned allowances by the management.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU) EKSU chapter, Professor Olufayo Oluodo, said
that the academic staff is staying away from work because of the
non-payment of their salaries, which had made life difficult for them.
According to him, the workers are demanding payment of their January and February salaries before they return to work.
It will be recalled that the staff unions of EKSU embarked on strike
November last due to the non-payment of owed allowances by the
institution’s management.
