The Osun State Polytechnic, Iree
have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID) to run some teaching and
research programmes in order to establish a Faculty of Agricultural
Science and Engineering in the polytechnic.
This was disclosed by the Media Relations Officer of the institution,
Mr. Tope Abiola, who said that all necessary facilities are in place
for the commencement of the programme.
USAID alongside the Winrock International, he added, agreed to support the school through its “Farmer to Farmer Project.”
Abiola further noted that a Professor of Agriculture, Soil and
Botanical Science, William Zimmerman, from the United States is already
in the school to discuss with its leadership on the success of the
programme.
