2,800 Students Admitted into OsPoly Iree for 2014/15 Session

No fewer than 2,800 students took their matriculation oath to be formally admitted into the Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree for the 2014/2015 academic session.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Jacob Agboola, warned the fresh students against engaging in cultism or violence, saying the school has zero tolerance for indiscipline.

He said that the polytechnic have signed a Memoranda of Understanding with some foreign institutions, including the Sussex University, London, to enable the institutions to collaborate in running higher degree courses.

Agboola, who said the partnership would boost the students’ exposure and experience, added that it would stand them out among their colleagues.

The rector urged the federal and state governments to invest more in the sector, as polytechnic education is vital to enhancing technological advancement of any country.
