Tragedy: UNN Students Involved In Fatal Motor Accident

Following the impromptu mid-semester break announced by the management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), some students of the institution travelling for the break were involved in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday.

It was reported that the ugly incident occurred at the Ngwo 9th Mile Corner along Nsukka-Enugu express road, Enugu state around 5:45pm.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, three people lost their lives in the incident while others sustained injuries.

The police spokesman stated that the auto crash involved a diesel truck with number plate AWK 311 XB, which collided with two buses belonging to the popular Peace Mass Transit, with number plates UWN 406 XA and UWN 57 XA and a motorcycle.

A UNN student’s union source who also confirmed the accident said that one of the dead victims is a female student of the university who is yet to be identified.




The source also said that several students of the institution involved in the accident are receiving treatment at Our Saviour Hospital, 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo.
