State govt. to leave our mini campus in 3 months – Unilorin VC

The Kwara Government has promised to vacate the mini campus of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in three months after it forcibly occupied the property in June.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, who made this known on Sunday, said that the state government gave the promise in a letter to the university and at a meeting with the authorities of the university.

Meanwhile, Kwara Government said it has resolved the controversy surrounding the temporary relocation of its agency to the University of Ilorin’s mini campus.

Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr Wahab Oba, in a press statement, said the issue was resolved during a meeting with the university authorities and government representatives.

It will be recalled that the Kwara Government had allegedly invaded the campus and sacked its occupants on June 25 with armed personnel.

The Old Kwara government, in 1975, donated the facility as a temporary site to meet part of the condition to site the institution in Ilorin. (NAN)
