TASUED Holds 3rd Inter-College Tennis Championship

The Sports Council of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, in collaboration with the Management of the Institution, recently organised a befitting 3rd Prof‎. Olukayode Oyesiku Inter-College Tennis Competition held at the Tennis Court of the University.

The sporting fiesta, which is an annual competition, had professional tennis players from within and outside the University community which included members of the Gateway Tennis Club, Ogun State.

According to the sponsor and pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olukayode Oyesiku, tennis is a therapeutical game‎ which helps in living a healthy life as well as preventing illness.

He further reiterated that three major factors make the game interesting which he highlighted as Thinking Faculty, Heart Functionality and Longevity of Life.

“It is always my delight to continuously sponsor this competition as a way of keeping our young boys and girls busy and away from social vices” he added.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu in her address said the tennis competition has been a wonderful programme since its inception, adding that the University looked forward for a more fun-filled and eventful game.

“Prof. Oyesiku laid a solid foundation on which the University still operates and thrives. We give kudos to the foundation Vice Chancellor for his unalloyed contri‎bution to the University”, she noted.

At the end of the competition, the duo of Saheed Abdulraheem (Computer Science) and Seun Akapo (History and Diplomatic Studies) emerged 1st Positions in the Mixed Double.

In the Singles Category, Ibukun Ogundola (Female/Political Science) and Saheed Abdulraheem (Male/Computer Science) emerged 1st Positions respectively.

The Mixed Double Runner Up winners are Adefabi Wole and Damilola while Single Runner Up winners are Seun Akapo (Female) and Adefabi Oluwole (Male).
