No fewer than 736 students of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD)
received their first degree certificates during the 3rd Convocation
ceremony of the institution held on Wednesday, 21st October, 2015.
Of the 736 graduating students, 65 bagged First Class, while 339
bagged Second Class (Upper Division). Another 258 graduated with Second
Class (Lower Division) and 74 made Third Class.
Speaking at the event, the Founder and Chancellor of ABUAD, Aare Afe
Babalola, urged well-to-do Nigerians to invest in quality education for
Nigerians, describing the sector as a very "serious and expensive
exercise".
He congratulated the fresh graduates and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Four eminent Nigerians were bestowed with honorary doctorate degrees
at the event. They are – former Chairman of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega; former Chairman of the
Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offence Commission
(ICPC), Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most
Rev. Matthew Kukah and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

65 First Class as ABUAD Graduates 736 Students
