
According to the Adamawa State Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Hamid Rufai, who made the disclosure on Saturday, twenty one others and two staff members sustained various degrees of injury during the attack.
He said the affected mosque, which is located on the Jambutu campus, about five kilometres away from the main campus, belonged to the polytechnic community.
Rufai commiserated with the families who lost their lost ones and assured that those injured will be taken care of.
Meanwhile, the NEMA Coordinator in the state, Mr Saad Bello and his counterpart of Nigerian Red Cross, Malam Aliyu Maikano, confirmed that the casualty figure in the blast has risen to 33 deaths from the initial 27.
