Then Governing Council of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has approved the appointment of Prof. Enefiok Essien as the new Vice Chancellor of the university.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs Edak Umondak, made
available in Uyo on Monday, it noted that the appointment would take
effect in December.
It stated that Essien is a professor of Commercial Law, a two-time
Dean, Faculty of Law, and Chairman, Committee of Deans, Uniuyo.
“Prof. Essien is taking over from Prof. Comfort Ekpo, who is
completing her five-year tenure as Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo at
the end of November 2015,” the statement said.
It added that the emergence of Essien followed a painstaking thorough
and uncompromising transparent process and urged the university
community to give him the support he required to succeed. (NAN)
