Also, Thursday, 24th December has been declared as public holiday to mark Maulud Nabiy (Eid-Maulud) while Friday 1st January, 2016 is for New Year celebration.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Bassey Akpanyung, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, Muslim and Christian faithfuls in the country are urged to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country.
