A total of 650 fresh students took their matriculation oath at the 5th Matriculation ceremony of the Federal University Otuoke (FUO) on Saturday, 12th December, 2015.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof.
Mobolaji Aluko, said the mangement has lifted the ban on both Student
and Staff Unions in the new institution.
He congratulated the newly admitted students and charged them to shun
all nefarious activities capable of truncating their academic pursuits
in the University.
The VC added that the quality of student intake and staff employed,
represents the University’s stance to create a citadel of learning,
teaching, research and community service for the generation,
dissemination, preservation and application of knowledge to gain a
reputation as a world-class University that challenges all its students
to achieve the higher levels of intellectual and personal growth to
promote sustainable development.
The matriculating students are from two existing faculties in the
University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science has 322 while
Faculty of Science has 328 students.
