The Senior Special Assistant to
President Goodluck Jonathan on Students and Youth Affairs, Mr. Jude
Imagwe, have announced that the allowance of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members will soon be increased.
Imagwe, who made the announcement at the
NYCS Permanent Orientation Camp at Mangu, Plateau State, said that the
current allowance of N19,800 is insufficient in the face of current
economic condition in the country.
He assured that President Jonathan will do something about the allowance as corps members’ welfare is paramount to him.
The presidential aide charged the youth
corpers to set a target for themselves and start from the scratch in
order to create new jobs because the employment generation in the
country is failing.
In her welcome address, the NYSC State
Coordinator, Mrs. Lios Benjamin Meller, said that she could not but be
thankful for the support given to her administration.
Best of luck To You all…
