Ondo Nans condemn Xenophobia attack in South Africa - Ayodele Oladimeji

Attacks on Foreign Nationals in South Africa: A misplaced Priority.

The Ondo State National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC) unequivocally condemn the killings and attacks of Foreign Nationals especially Nigeria Students in South Africa. We demand an immediate and drastic action to be taken to stop this heartless and senseless killing.

However we also condemn the government of the ANC for pushing the citizens to this stage. It will be ridiculous to explain the senseless attacks on innocent Citizens without looking for its root cause.

The basic truth is most citizens in South Africa live in shameful poverty, and ridiculous hunger among stupendous wealth. The Apartheid struggle only achieved political independence in the Country while a large population remained under Economic Slavery.

The Minimum wage in the Country is not enough to meet the cost of living that has relatively shot up in recent times, plus government has done nothing to provide quality jobs and Education continues to remain in an astronomical fee.

It is a pity however, that a propaganda was sold out to the people that the cause of their poverty was the Foreigners in the Country which led to outrage against Nationals of different countries. The rank and file of the working class and Students must mobilize and channel their anger towards the anti-poor government of the ANC that has under the imperialist system of Capitalism rendered the working people hopeless and useless.

The Senseless attacks on Foreign Nationals must be stopped immediately, and we also advice the populace to disregard any information to attack South African Companies in Nigeria. We will never return injustice with Injustice, or Hate with Hate. We will continue to show that we are a peace loving Nation and have no respect for Violence.

The Federal Government must also show genuine concern for our Nationals in the Country and also prepare an alternate plan to expatriate our citizens if need be.
